Kirk Botula

Mr. Botula is an early and growth stage operator and serial entrepreneur with a track record of building businesses from ideation,through launching and scaling to successful exits. Driving results through business model innovation and international expansion he has built high performance and scalable operations that have earned industry leading levels of customer loyalty and exceptional returns for investors. Most recently he served as CEO and Managing Partner of Total Bank Solutions, a financial technology firm with $100B AUA in their insured deposit programs, leading the firm through a successful exit via merger with Reich& Tang backed by Estancia Capital Partners.

Previously, as CEO of CMMI Institute,Mr. Botula led the spin-out from Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute, turned around the DoD funded research program, and drove new growth by modernizing the core platforms and launching product line extensions in Data Management and Cybersecurity ultimately leading to a successful acquisition to ISACA. Mr. Botula also helped to launch Carnegie Innovations, a venture studio at the University.

Prior to this Mr. Botula served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Confluence, a market leading fintech company serving global investment management industry. At Confluence, Mr. Botula drove product development and market strategy leading to a global footprint and a 70% market share in North America resulting in a successful exit to Polaris Ventures. Mr. Botula holds a BFA from Carnegie-Mellon University and an MBA from the Tepper School of Business.
